The main equipment is the "screw extruder" for extruding processing, single screw type and twin screw type, and also devided into dry type extruder and wet type extruder or also called steam type extruder.
When we feed material into the extruder, the screw and the shaft pushes the material to form an axial flow. At the same time, due to the mechanical friction between the spiral and the material, between the material and the sleeves, between the material itself, the material is strongly squeezed, stirred and sheared, and the material will be further refined and homogenized. As the pressure gradually increases, the temperature rises correspondingly. Under the conditions of high temperature, high pressure and high shear, the physical properties of the material changes, from powder to paste, starch gelatinization, protein denaturation, partial of fiber degradation, pathogenic bacteria are killed, health indicators are improved, and toxic components are inactivated. When the paste material is ejected from the die mould hole, under the strong pressure difference, the material is puffed, dehydrated and cooled to pellets, the extruded product of the pellets structure is loose, porous, crisp, and it has good palatability and flavor.

Extruder has good performance to produce floating fish feed and pet food.
